Former First Lady Michelle Obama is open and honest about a whole helluva lot when it comes to both her personal as well as her professional life while somehow managing to maintain a level of class, elegance, and grace that likely leave the Royal family a little jealous. But folks, even someone who used to help run an entire country has their limits — and talk show host Jimmy Kimmel found hers.
Recently, the former First Lady made a (remote) appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! to talk about her new children’s show coming out on Netflix, Waffles + Mochi. She shared some jokes with the host about how the sales of her memoir, Becoming, are “way, way ahead” of her husband Barack’s and even gave up some details about quarantine life with the hubs and kids amid the pandemic.
However, Obama drew the line when Kimmel began to ask her about her sex life with former President Barack Obama — specifically related to their sex life surrounding one key, historical event of her husband’s administration.
“I asked you a question that night, and I actually asked your husband this question, as well and he kicked it back to you,” Kimmel stated, referring to a conversation he’d had with the couple at an event several years ago. “I asked you…on the night that SEAL Team Six took out Osama bin Laden at your husband’s order, did you and your husband make love that night to celebrate?”
The audience broke out into nervous laughter at the question, but Michelle handled it with the perfect mixture of poise and fire that we’ve come to expect and love from her.
“I have to tell your audience that, for some very sick reason, you are very obsessed with this portion of that major historical event, in a way that no one else…no one in the history of all the conversations I have had, has anybody drilled down on this particular point,” Michelle responded. The host nodded in agreement as she laughed and added, “So I turn that back on you.”
