“I Stand Corrected”: Elon Musk Pulls A Major 180 On GOP Senator He Publicly Attacked Just Hours Earlier

Tech billionaire and Trump jockey Elon Musk pulled what may very well be the fastest 180 we’ve ever seen on a Republican Senator that he had literally just called a “Deep State puppet” literal hours before he had a personal meeting with the man and decided that all was suddenly well again.

In a post on his X (formerly known as Twitter) platform that has since been deleted, Musk called Indiana Republican Senator Todd Young a “deep state puppet,” adding that it was “very weird” that Young had voted in favor of around two-thirds of now-former President Joe Biden’s nominees. Musk’s anger towards Young was apparently born from Young’s alleged misgivings about Tulsi Gabbard’s controversial nomination for Director of National Intelligence.

However, just a few short hours later, Musk returned to X with a post that walked back his attack against the GOP senator, revealing that he had a personal, one-on-one chat with Senator Young, in which the pair apparently found middle ground and buried the hatchet.

“I stand corrected,” Musk wrote in his follow-up post just hours after publicly name-calling Senator Young. “Senator Young will be a great ally in restoring power to the people from the vast, unelected bureaucracy.”

Young had vocalized his concerns during Gabbard’s confirmation hearing before the Senate Intelligence Committee on Thursday, noting that he was troubled by the fact that Gabbard refused to label Edward Snowden — the Russian-American whistleblower who was responsible for leaking highly classified documents that confirmed and revealed the existence of global surveillance programs — a traitor.

If Young were to vote no on Gabbard’s confirmation in the Senate Intelligence Committee, it could singlehandedly bring Gabbard’s bid to become the newest DNI to a screeching halt, as it would only take four no votes in the full Senate to shoot Gabbard down.

Republican Senator Susan Collins, yet another Republican who is reported to be on the fence about the confirmation, could also derail Gabbard’s path to Trump’s Cabinet if she were to cast a no vote in the Committee, assuming that all Democratic senators will vote no.
