Trump Just Took A Nasty Public Swipe At Lindsey Graham As Tensions Threaten To Burst In GOP Congress

Donald Trump and South Carolina Republican Senator Lindsey Graham haven’t exactly been close friends for some time now, spending the last several years lobbing stray potshots at each other, with Graham most recently firing a public shot at the president for his controversial decision to pardon and release all of the convicted January 6th insurrectionists — even the ones who committed violent acts against law enforcement officials during the infamous Capitol attack.

However, Donald got serious today when he set his sights on the Republican lawmaker over the whopping $4 trillion House GOP’s singular budget bill that’s chock full of spending reductions and tax cuts and doesn’t seem to have a whole lot of hope in passing through Congress.

Graham, who serves as chair of the Senate Budget Committee, seems to know that the big budget bill doesn’t stand a good chance and, if it fails to pass, will result in a government shutdown that no one can afford. As such, Graham has led the charge for a split two-bill plan that “leaves the extension of Mr. Trump’s 2017 tax cuts for a later date while quickly increasing funding for border security and defense,” according to CBS New.

“But House Republicans have argued that passing two pieces of legislation carries a wider margin for error, given the narrow GOP majority in the lower chamber,” CBS reports.

The Hill recently also reported that Trump had largely been non-committal on whether he preferred congressional Republicans passing his agenda in one massive reconciliation bill or splitting it up across two bills,” arguing, “the results were what mattered.”

However, Donald’s tune changed today when he took to his Truth Social platform and not only made it clear that he wants the one big budget bill, but made sure to throw Lindsey Graham fully under the bus while he was at it.

“The House and Senate are doing a SPECTACULAR job of working together as one unified, and unbeatable, TEAM, however, unlike the Lindsey Graham version of the very important Legislation currently being discussed, the House Resolution implements my FULL America First Agenda, EVERYTHING, not just parts of it!” Donald Trump wrote in his Truth Social post earlier today. “We need both Chambers to pass the House Budget to ‘kickstart’ the Reconciliation process, and move all of our priorities to the concept of, “ONE BIG BEAUTIFUL BILL.”

Donald’s angry post appeared to serve as a direct response to the recent announcement from Graham and other Senate Republicans that they would be voting on the two-bill budget resolution later this week.
