Lauren Boebert’s Son Charged With Child Abuse, Visted By CPS As Congresswoman Tries To Downplay Incident As “Miscommunication”

Colorado Republican House Rep. Lauren Boebert has found herself back in the eye of public scrutiny after her 20-year-old son, the infamous Tyler Boebert, was formally charged with child abuse — an incident that Boebert is desperately trying to downplay to the American public as nothing more than a ” miscommunication.”

According to records from the Windsor Police Department obtained by Denver Westword, the MAGA congresswoman’s eldest son, who she shares with her equally controversial and estranged ex-husband Jayson Boebert, was cited for criminal negligence that did not result in injury or death, a misdemeanor charge, in relation to an incident that took place on July 11.

Local authorities have yet to go public with any details surrounding the events that led to Tyler Boebert’s charges. However, Congresswoman Boebert has already attempted to damage control the situation, brushing off the incident as “a miscommunication on monitoring my young grandson that recently led to him getting out of the house.”

Lauren Boebert released a public statement on the matter, describing the ordeal as a “one-time incident” and doubling down on the assertion that there was “no injury or physical abuse involved.”

The congresswoman further confirmed in her public statement that the family was visited by Child Protective Services as a result of the incident.

Of course, this is far from Tyler Boebert’s first run-in with the law.

The Republican congresswoman’s now 20-year-old son became a father to the aforementioned grandson at just 17, following rather closely in his mother’s footsteps, as Lauren herself dropped out of high school and became a teen mother to Tyler at the age of 18.

Tyler’s string of legal woes first went public back in 2022, when the eldest Boebert son reportedly flipped his father’s SUV into a creek and left his passenger with a myriad of injuries, including a severe laceration to the hand and concussions.

Tyler was ticketed for careless driving as a result of the vehicle accident, but ultimately accepted a plea that dropped the case down to a “defective vehicle for headlights” ticket.

This seemed to serve as the catalyst for Boebert’s downhill criminal slide, as the eldest Boebert son would find himself embroiled in a legal mess with his father just two years later, when Tyler reportedly called the police on Jayson to report that his father was assaulting him. Tyler alleged that his father “pushed Tyler to the ground and pushed his thumb into his mouth,” per the arrest affidavit connected to the incident.

Tyler’s troubles didn’t stop there, as only a short month later, Lauren’s eldest son was infamously arrested and slapped with multiple felony charges in connection with a string of local vehicle thefts and using stolen credit cards across local gas stations.

Ultimately, Tyler was afforded the ability to plead down to a single charge of attempting to commit identity theft last October. As part of his guilty plea, the eldest Boebert son was given a two-year deferred judgment, paving the way for his felony record to be cleared, following the completion of his 24-month probation term.

It is not yet clear whether or not Tyler’s newest brush with the law with violate the current terms of his probation.

Tyler Boebert’s court date regarding the incident with his child is slated for September 8, in Weld County Court.
