As Donald Trump continues to wrestle with the infamous Epstein scandal cloud that looms dark and heavy over his second presidential term, the MAGA base has recently begun to flirt with the idea of Ghislaine Maxwell being an innocent victim, naively embroiled and entangled in the web of her lover’s deceit and depolorability, no more culpable in his crimes than any other Epstein victim.
While Trump has not personally committed to a formal decision either way, with regard to issuing clemency or a presidential pardon to Maxwell, it certainly seems that his base of followers is attempting to clear a path for just that — painting Ghislaine Maxwell as an innocent, broken, and unfairly treated victim who deserves a pardon, no doubt in exchange for telling the world that Donald Trump had no part in the depths of depravity that took place on the infamous Epstein Island.
Journalist Tara Palmeri is calling BS, from the rooftops.
Appearing on MSNBC this week, as the Maxwell sympathizers rapidly gain steam across social media as well as multiple Right-wing news outlets, Palmeri made it undeniably clear that Ghislaine Maxwell is undeserving of a single ounce of sympathy.
Maxwell was accused and convicted on charges of enticement of minors and sex trafficking of underage girls, all in relation to her association with Jeffrey Epstein, serving as his “recruiter.”
Among those she recruited on Epstein’s behalf was Virginia Giuffre, one of the first Epstein victims to go public with her accusations of horrific abuse, ultimately taking her own life earlier this year.
Speaking with MSNBC, Palmeri ensured that everyone knew exactly what Ghislaine Maxwell has done, “I just want to point out again, for anyone who says that Ghislaine deserves any sort of clemency, when Virginia ended up in Epstein’s house, it was Ghislaine who took her panties off. That was the first person who touched her. It was Ghislaine who brought her there. It was Ghislaine who found her at Mar-a-Lago.”
Palmeri made specific note that Giuffre was never trafficked to Donald Trump, who once maintained a long-standing and close friendship with Epstein.
“I think any sort of idea that Ghislaine was just some sort of, like, victim, as they’re saying on Newsmax and other places, is absurd,” Palmeri said. “She was a pedophile. She did the exact same thing, and this whole idea that President Trump was upset about it at the time is absurd.”
MSNBC host Nicole Wallace questioned why “MAGA seems to exonerate Ghislaine Maxwell’s sexual abuse of these girls? Are they unaware of it? Do they not believe it? I mean, she sounds like the sexual abuser that Epstein was.”
“Exactly,” Palmeri answered. “It’s like they don’t want to hear these stories.”
She went on to explain that she has interviewed Epstein victim Annie Farmer, who personally told her that Ghislaine Maxwell “literally got on the phone with Annie Farmer’s mother and convinced her that it was okay for her daughter to go to this ranch, Zorro Ranch, because she had promised them that they were going to pay for the tuition for their daughter. I mean, this is, you know — they preyed on children.”
Yesterday, Ghislaine Maxwell’s legal team sent an official letter to House Oversight Committee Chair James Comer that included a list of demands the Committee must meet in order for Maxwell to agree to testify before Congress without invoking her Fifth Amendment right. Those demands included a pardon or clemency from President Trump and an interview that took place outside of a “prison setting.”
