President Donald Trump was full-on blowing a gasket by 6 am this morning when he went after his newest Enemy Number One, Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell, in yet another absolutely unhinged, blindingly furious, and barely coherent or sensical rant over Powell’s continued refusal to bend to Donald’s demands to drop interest rates in the US, leading the sitting president to publicly refer to Powell as a “TOTAL LOSER” and blame the Fed Chair for “costing our country trillions of dollars.”
In a furious post on his Truth Social echo chamber platform that clocked in at 6:11 this morning, Trump raged, “Jerome ‘too late’ Powell has done it again!”
“He is too late, and actually, too angry, too stupid and too political to have the job of Fed chair. He is costing our Country trillions of dollars, in addition to one of the most incompetent, or corrupt, renovations of a building(s) in the history of construction! Put another way, ‘too late’ is a total loser, and our country is paying the price!”
Trump has been openly demanding that Powell lower interest rates in the United States, which currently clock in at around 4.33 percent. As Powell has repeatedly refused to bend to Donald’s will, Trump recently began floating the idea of out-and-out replacing Powell in his position as Chair of the Federal Reserve.
However, the idea was relatively short-lived after Trump found himself on the receiving end of a significant amount of blowback over the matter. He ultimately tossed the notion of tossing Powell out and has instead shifted into launching a full-blown investigation into the head of the Federal Reserve over a series of renovations Powell spearheaded to the central bank headquarters in Washington, D.C.
Trump has spent many hours publicly labelling Powell as a partisan hack, citing the interest rate cuts implemented by the Federal Reserve under Powell’s leadership during the Biden Administration.
