One former federal prosecutor who was among the many to be unfairly and unceremoniously fired by Donald Trump upon his return to the White House has now broken her silence to deliver a blunt and frankly terrifying warning to the American people about what is happening to the rule of law and the very fabric of what this nation was built upon.
The blood-curdling remarks came from attorney Sara Levine during her interview on CBS News’ 60 Minutes over the weekend, where she matter-of-factly stated that the United States Department of Justice is “under attack” by Donald Trump’s new presidential administration.
“They’re coming after the people that want to uphold the laws that exist,” she stated in the bombshell 60 Minutes interview before delivering this blunt and disturbing warning to everyone in America: “And that should be terrifying to everyone.”
Levine served as one of the many Justice Department attorneys who helped to criminally prosecute the thousands of Trump supporters who infamously and violently stormed the United States Capitol building on January 6th, 2021 in an effort to stop the certification of Joe Biden’s presidential election victory over Donald Trump and effectively overthrow the US presidential election.
Levine told 60 Minutes that, upon Donald Trump’s return to the presidency, she was fired from her position simply for doing her job.
“I followed the facts,” Levine said in the eye-opening interview. “I followed the law. And I got fired because I did exactly what I was supposed to do.”
Similar sentiment was echoed by Peter Keisler, who once served as acting Attorney General under former President George W. Bush, and told 60 Minutes that he was beyond disturbed by Donald Trump’s decision to issue blanket pardons for the individuals who were criminally charged with participating in an insurrection.
“I don’t think anybody believes that these people would’ve been pardoned if they had engaged in exactly the same acts, but had stormed the Capitol, say, in opposition to the president and his policies,” Keisler pointed out. “It says that you can commit some very serious crimes, but if you do so as an identifiable supporter of the president’s agenda and political interests, you may be able to get off. And I think it was designed to send that message. ”
