Frankly, no one expected President-elect Donald Trump to release a heartfelt, warm, or compassionate message to mark New Year’s Eve. Anyone who knows who Donald Trump is at this point knew that whatever he published to the American people today would be rife with hatred and vitriol for essentially everyone but himself.
However, the statement he released on his Truth Social echo chamber today was a bit more deranged and unhinged than even we were fully prepared for.
Taking to his social media platform with a message on the New Year’s Eve holiday today, the president-elect took aim at his own party and people, publicly demanding that they do more to support his scandal-plagued Cabinet nominees, as his inauguration closes in and he struggles to get his people appointed through Congress.
“We just won a Historic Landslide and Mandate from the American People, but Senate Democrats are organizing to improperly stall and delay the confirmation process of many of our Great Nominees,” the felony-convicted president-elect wrote in his social media post. “They will try all sorts of tricks starting very soon.”
“Republicans must not allow them to do that,” Trump continues as he turned to lay a large portion of the blame at the feet of his own people. “We have a Country to run, and many big problems to solve, mostly created by Democrats. REPUBLICANS, BE SMART AND TOUGH!!!”
As has become rather customary with these half-baked and unhinged posts from the former turned soon-to-be president, it seems no one actually knows what he’s talking about when he references these “tricks” that Senate Democrats supposedly have up their sleeves — considering Donald actually has more than enough Republican votes to unilaterally confirm every single one of his Cabinet nominees, provided that Republicans can actually present a united front on the matter. Something that the Right has publicly and severely struggled to pull off lately.
Trump’s Cabinet picks ignited a flurry of instantaneous media coverage and controversy as he seemed to peg the most controversial choices he could dream up — including the likes of Matt Gaetz for Attorney General (who didn’t last long as his child sex crimes scandal catapulted to the front pages of almost every media company in the US), vaccine conspiracy theorist Robert F. Kennedy Jr. for Secretary of Health and Human Services, and Fox News personality and accused sexual assaulter Pete Hegseth for Secretary of Defense.
The public scandal and controversy surrounding the president-elect’s Cabinet picks has grown so severe, in fact, that top GOP strategist Susie Wiles, who just so happens to also now be tapped as Trump’s chief of staff, has issued a warning to her fellow Trump Cabinet picks to steer clear of social media until they’re officially confirmed in an effort to staunch the bleeding and avoid any further drama and scandals that could cause to GOP to fail to fall in line for Donald Trump.
