The world has gone so topsy-turvy upside down that even the likes of Marjorie Taylor Greene is starting to spit some sense and, frankly, that pisses me all the way off.
Georgia’s biggest Bleach Blonde, Bad Built, Butch Body Embarrassment had some full-blown fightin’ words for her Republican House Speaker Mike Johnson today, as the federal government shutdown now moves into its 17th day, with literally no conceivable end in sight, and the American people continue to be left empty-handed and suffering.
Speaking exclusively with Axios today, Greene brutally slammed the GOP Speaker of the House for failing to hold even a “single meeting” to discuss strategy or find a way forward as the government shutdown rages on, telling the publication just how frustrated and disgusted she is with the fact that Johnson and his cronies still have “no plan.”
The Georgia Republican singled out Johnson, specifically, for pointedly keeping Republican lawmakers “out of town for the past month” and went on to confirm that the House Speaker “has not had a single conference meeting” to discuss any sort of strategy to get the federal government and the American people out of this mess of their own making.
Just hours before Greene’s “come to Jesus” speech to Axios, Johnson had vehemently and publicly defended his decision to send Republican lawmakers scattering back to their respective districts, calling it the “responsible decision” to “help” constituents as the shutdown barrels full-throttle into its third consecutive week.
“What am I saying that can be criticized?” Greene said to Axios. “I’m saying the cost of living is too high, health insurance premiums are destroying the middle class, and Republicans have no plan.”
“Mike Johnson has not had a single conference meeting about any sort of plan to deal with the ACA tax credits expiring,” she blistered, noting that this lapse would leave many of her own constituents without healthcare.
But Johnson wasn’t Marjorie’s only target here. The Georgia Republican congresswoman went on to set her sights on her own party, as well as President Donald J. Trump himself, accusing them all of downright abandoning their “American First” promise that once served as the party’s defining principle. Now, she says, a large portion of the president’s agenda amounts to nothing more than “America Last,” she said.
She made sure to praise Trump for doing “a great job in a lot of places,” but argued that the president is losing the Republican plot with regard to focusing so deeply on foreign affairs that he’s putting domestic concerns on a perpetual back burner.
“It’s a revolving door at the White House of foreign leaders when Americans are, you know, screaming from their lungs,” Greene criticized.
She went on to take yet another pointed jab at Trump’s never-ending and ever-increasing tariff war, stating that farmers and manufacturers “don’t know if the tariff policy is going to change,” as the president seems to shift his stance with each “Truth Social post.”
When it comes to the flak she’s found herself on the receiving end of for daring to speak out against Trump and Republican corruption and broken promises, Greene says, when it comes to the America First doctrine, she sees herself as an ideological purist: “It doesn’t faze me at all.”
